Do you get enough vitamin D? Or, equally important, are you getting the right kind of vitamin D? Known as the
sunshine vitamin, vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin that comes in two major forms: vitamin D2 (ergocalciferol) and vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol).
However, the two forms can be drastically different.
A December 2010 study in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism discovered vitamins D2 and D3 are not used by the body in the same way.
