Welcome to our November 6 episode of The Lovely Book of the Day podcast! I’m your host Carrie, from the Lovely Living blog. I have another beautiful book suggestion for you on this blustery Wednesday.
A romance writer who dabbles in astrology heads home for Thanksgiving, reluctantly. She plans to make amends with her estranged family. She’s opening a risky venture - a romance bookstore - and needs to ask help from home. She expects to see these people at Thanksgiving: her too-perfect sister, meddling grandmother, matchmaking mother, and workaholic father, but she didn’t expect to see her ex husband!
Every year in November I have a tradition of watching Holly Hunter and Robert Downey Junior in “Home for the Holidays” (which also stars Anne Bancroft!) I really like “going home for Thanksgiving” movies (including Planes, Trains, and Automobiles!) and this book is a light read chick lit with a bit of romance.
