Sid McNeil shares his journey from small-town trumpet player to band director to worship leader, revealing how God's plan unfolded through unexpected opportunities and life-changing decisions. His story illustrates how our initial dreams sometimes give way to even more fulfilling paths we couldn't have envisioned for ourselves.
• Born in Louisiana and raised in small-town Mississippi with just 40 students in his graduating class
• Started as a talented trumpet player with dreams of playing for Boston Symphony or Chicago
• Discovered his love for teaching during student teaching in Kosciuszko
• Found his wife Andrea through church music ministry where her mother played matchmaker
• Made the difficult decision to step away from band directing after his son's heartbreaking family portrait
• Transitioned through various church music positions while maintaining better family balance
• Enjoys golf as a way to connect with God and find peace outside of music
• Musical influences include James Taylor, Eagles, Chicago, Dan Fogelberg, and acapella groups
