Binh Danh discusses his approach to photography, landscapes, and his Vietnamese heritage. His exhibition at The Jule features chlorophyll prints and daguerreotype images that blur the line between past and present, examining a transformation of American identity. Danh is the 2024 recipient of the William Collins Smith Auburn Award for Advancing American Art. The annual award, established by the museum in 2023 with a major gift from the Julia and Albert Smith Foundation, honors an American artist or scholar who has significantly impacted American art.
