Greetings, Summit Leaders.
Yesterday, I listened to a Summit Leader who shared his discovery with me. I recall years ago him saying to me, "I want to make an impact."
Leaders like this inspire me because they intentionally fight the battles, trust the process, and find their identity while helping others.
They are motivated to remind others of just who they are, which is a wise investment and use of talent.
How marvelous it is to see someone discover their identity as a leader!
They are overcomers.
They are believers who win the victory over the voices in their minds that say they are not enough, and that they will never measure up.
The lies we tend to believe about ourselves can hinder us from becoming great leaders.
When we discover the power that comes from knowing who we are and to whom we belong, something transformational begins to happen in our thinking.
Our thinking confirms the alignment of the person who speaks and declares in the heart. We become victorious warriors who are fearless.
Believing overcomes doubting and refuses to concede defeat. Through faith, they claim the victory!
Who are you, and what will you become? These are the questions great leaders discover the answers that transform them with boldness, courage, and confidence.
Do you remember when you were very young, the person who kept reminding you, "You can do it." "Try it again." "Yes, you can."
Recall those people to mind. That person's love and encouragement empowered you to believe in yourself.
Their belief in you helped you form an identity. Knowing who you are and to whom you belong frees us.
The reality of who we are replaces the lies in our thinking. Is has been said, "You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free."
"Remind me once again just who I am because I need to know." This lyric from a top recording speaks to a process that enables us to overcome and become who we are.
Most of my early career, I struggled with an identity crisis. However, through the blessing of wise people who seemed to appear at just the right time on my journey, I discovered my true identity.
Our identity empowers us to try great things, dream grand accomplishments, and believe for the impossible. "Do not be unbelieving but believing."
Once this happens, we begin to see our lives and careers as an adventure with new opportunities to make an impact in the world.
The good news is that we can start at any age.
The only steps required are the belief that it is possible and the wisdom to begin.
Someone once said, "Wisdom will multiply your days and add years to your life. If you become wise, you will be the one to benefit."
Not only do we benefit, but our families, colleagues, clients, company and
all those we serve.
Now is the time for us to begin!
Victory.
