Greetings, Summit Leaders.

Congratulations on the position you hold and the service you are providing!

This week, I asked a new group of IBM Garage leaders to answer these two questions.

  1. Do you believe you are supposed to be here in your role?
  2. Do you think it is an accident that you are here?

Unanimously they all believe that they are supposed to be here.

They are correct in their belief, and so are all the Summit Leaders believing that they are here for such a time as this.

Believers move at a different pace than others. Because they understand and discern their life and career journey have purpose and meaning, they do not make hasty decisions. The one who believes will not make haste.

The frenzy of activity and rush to get as much done as possible in the shortest amount of time is not the pathway to "success." It often leads to desperation, confusion and anxiety, and a sense of being overwhelmed.

Someone once said, "You do not save any time by working too fast; hurrying will cause you to make mistakes, and you will have to take extra time to do the job over again."

There is a better way. Whoever believes will not make haste.

It requires patience, discernment, and wisdom to determine which opportunities are yours and those that are not.

Taking time to pause and reflect for further instruction helps us see more clearly. There is protection available in this approach.

Great leaders do not rush ahead because of the perils of losing time, more significant opportunities, and blessings. Experience is teaching them when they move too quickly; they can experience pain and loss. "Returning and resting is what will save you; calmness and confidence will make you strong."

Great leaders learn the principle of actively waiting. They have a sense of being guided by providence and move forward believing when the time is right. All things are possible to those who believe and act at the right time.

The focus of faith frees us from fear. Their hearts are clean, conscience is clear, and mind is confident. Their belief encourages others along the path chosen for them. At just the right time, opportunity, place, and circumstance, their presence, influence, and words of hope and encouragement impact people, places, events, and outcomes.

Someone once encouraged many in sharing their experience; "When you walk, your steps are firm. When you run, you will not stumble. I will instruct you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths."

The results of waiting, gaining insight, discernment, and instruction are excellent.

You are here for such a time as this! If you are changing assignments, jobs, positions, or locations, see the purpose in your situation, understand, and be in your place to help when the need arises.

Wisdom, strength, favor, grace, and help you need to complete your assignment come at just the right time.

Be encouraged! "Behold, I am doing something new."

Now is the time!

Victory!
