Greetings, Summit Leaders.

How joyful it is to see Summit Leaders thriving on their life and career journey!

This week a Summit Leader shared her recent sales victory on the last day of the quarter!

Her client adopted a proposed solution that will benefit many thousands of people.

Her team's success keeps our company at the forefront of innovation and contributes to our growth.

Her story is significant because I recall receiving this note from her in response to the blog post on

January 3, 2018 "Commitment. - Accomplishing more excellent works in 2018 and beyond."
"Thank you, Tony! Great timing as I am setting my 2018 goals!"

The timing is perfect for us being here for such a time as this! How should we set our goals and lead by faith during new work routines, working remotely, and wondering when things will change?

Here are four suggestions to consider applying to our lives.

Practice "personal excellence."

Remember when you experienced a breakthrough. You danced for joy! I remember how I danced when I received the news that I was selected to be a member of the Summit team. That was seven years ago. All the emotions I felt then are still on fire within me now. I pray to get stronger and better for my team and those I serve.

Think about the joyful goal you reached that comes to your mind now?

Reflect on the process. How you worked and waited in faith for the goal's accomplishment. What motivated you to keep going. You believed!
"Now, faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen."

Today, I spoke with a Summit Leader who shared his "personal excellence" during a challenging year in 2018. He continued to work hard even though nothing happened in the first half of the year. Then it happened! New sales opportunities occurred in the second half, and he finished the half-year at 200%.

He is now in a new managerial role and "focusing on mindfulness; being present during WebEx meetings and not multitasking. I am planning out my day and staying prepared. Nothing bad will come out of practicing "personal excellence."

Resolve to practice "personal excellence" in everything your hands find to do. The time for preparation is now.

Review your goals and envision your opportunity to shine on the path ahead of you. Looking your best, being, and doing your best are essential. How you show up matters every day.

Goal setting is essential in life. We are motivated and inspired by going through the process and protected from our enemy of complacency.

Without goals, we drift in life. The ancient saying is "be lazy and become slaves. Work hard and become leaders.

Be fruitful and purposeful. Prepare for the good works ahead for you.

I am discovering that thinking long about my goals, writing them down, and speaking them aloud affects my spirit and thinking.

Neuroscience research shows that connecting a small physical gesture or word helps trigger commitment to our goals when circumstances are tough. SMARTER goal setting helps our goals to be specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, timely, possible to evaluate, and reevaluate.

In February, I thought long about six goals, wrote them down, recited them in prayer, with my hands raised high, shouted my adoration!

Get ready, my friends. Greater things are still to come.

Victory!
