Marcia Patton is the Executive Minister Emerita of EvergreenAssociation of American Baptist Churches. She was given this title when sheretired after her work with the establishment of the Association and serving asExecutive Minister for its first 13 years.
She was born in Waynesburg Pennsylvania, raised inTemperance Michigan. She is a graduate of Michigan State University (B.A.) andtwice a graduate of Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary (now PalmerTheological Seminary), with a Master of Arts in Religion and a Master ofDivinity. In 1989 she earned her Ph.D. from Temple University. She servedchurches in New Jersey, Salt Lake City Utah and Hatboro Pennsylvania and forthe American Baptist Churches of the Northwest. She was ordained in 1976 atFirst Baptist Church, Salt Lake City Utah.
She is the author of Intentionally Inclusive: Together atthe Table for Ministry and co-author of Sacred Decisions: Consensus forFaith Communities, both published by Judson Press.
