**Trigger warning: suicide & suicide attempt**This week, Jessalynn sits down with the remarkable Kevin Hines, a best-selling author, global public speaker, and award-winning documentary filmmaker. At the age of 19, Kevin attempted to take his life by jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge. He is one of only 36 people (less than 1%) to survive the fall, and his survival story includes the help of a sea lion that held him on the surface until the coast guard arrived. Today, he shares his story of healing, recovery, and the importance of removing the stigma and asking for help when you need it. This is such an inspiring episode, and we are so excited to share it with you! Resources: (CANADA)Text 45645 or Call 1.833.456.4566 to speak with a crisis responder without judgementVisit Talk Suicide Canada for more resourcesVisit: www.suicide.org (Canada & US)(UNITED STATES)Dial 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (US Only)Text: 741-741 Crisis Text Line (USA Only)Visit: www.suicide.org (Canada & US)Be sure to follow Kevin on Instagram and read his bestselling memoir titled The Art of Being Broken: How Storytelling Saves Lives. Don't forget to follow Jessalynn on Instagram @invisiblescarspodcast and visit her website! If you or someone you know is suffering from the effects of trauma, please know you are not alone in your healing journey.
