Description

In this episode of The Sustainable Angler podcast I interview Creative Energies Co-Owner Scott Kane. This interview was especially fun because I was an intern/solar installer for Creative Energies back in 2010 while living in Jackson Hole, WY. I got to travel all over Idaho, Wyoming and Utah installing solar with a fly rod in-hand and looking back, it was probably when we were installing a solar-powered fish screen on a ranch for a local chapter of Trout Unlimited that the seed was planted to protect what I love by marrying fly fishing and sustainability. Fast-forward 11 years later and I am still working to protect what I love and Scott and the team at Creative Energies is still working to solve the climate crisis by installing solar all over Idaho, Wyoming and Utah, and in this episode we provide some background information on solar; the challenges the solar industry faces as there have recently been several electric utilities that are trying to reduce the amount they buy solar power back from homeowners and businesses making it a far less attractive option in terms of payback periods; and we also discuss how all fish love solar! Hope you enjoy!
