Happy Podcast Friday! Welcome to episode 119: Unleash Your Inner Boxer – with coach and world class trainer, Jolie Glassman.

Do you know the coolest thing about this interview? You would initially think that our niche’s don’t align… Jolie lives in hard core world, she trains professional atheletes, NFL players, runs in circles with the greatest boxers … does this sound like slow and steady wins the race and a gentle redeeming approach to health?

Maybe not at first glance, but our want for our clients is exactly the same, for everyone to be the best version of themselves! Jolie says it in this way “you are the hero you’ve been waiting for”. Jolie believes you to be limitless, she believes in the importance of never giving up and she believes that we create the world with our words… our stories have the ability to empower or disempower us (we need to make sure our words align and we rewrite our stories to empower not only us, but those around us!)

I believe that every Direction Not Perfection Community Member has heard these messages and how great and spoiled are we today to get these life lessons reinforced today with such a spitfire!

Jolie tells individuals to release their inner boxer, but I think we all need to release our inner Jolie… we need to fight for intentional transformation and hear it right out of the mouth who created and lives this journey every day!

So let me give you an official introduction…Fasten your seat belt and get ready for a wild ride.  Today I interview Jolie Glassman, a teacher, coach, leader, inspirer, motivator, activator, entrepreneur and owner/operator of South Beach Boxing. She has received many awards and has a long history of not being afraid to get in deep to transform the lives of those in her community that need it most. She comes from a teaching background but was not happy conforming to traditional rules.  She was a disrupter who chose to go her own way to get people the results that work.  Her passion was following an unconventional path, serving inner city under, privileged kids, helping them to bond with their parents through fitness, pushing past their limits and learning that they have to do it on their own.  This has led to programs focusing on anti-bullying.  She was teaching fitness, spinning, aerobics etc. She at first thought, boxing was a sport of fighting. Then, in a serendipitous moment she opened a boxing gym with the idea of FIT: Fight for Intentional Transformation from love.  She trained boxers and other athletes, many of them famous.  She loved to watch them grow from hard backgrounds and hard times.. these individuals representing many people struggling with their lives, children, women fighting through adversity.  The rules of boxing teach life readiness.  They are all you need for life.   Boxers have gratitude, they know where they came from. They are humble.  They don’t give up, they chase perfection. (yep, that just came out of my mouth, but you’ll have to listen to the interview to see if you still agree that our objectives align)
