Listen

Description

When you talk health and fitness, you cannot use a one-size-fits-all mentality. Just because something works for one person does not mean it will work for you. That is why I try to bring you information from many different sources. Did you cringe and think “that’s not me” when I interviewed an ultra-marathoner, a vegan or someone who recommends fasting? The topic of today’s interview may not be one that you relate to, but I urge you to listen anyway. Hearing how one person found a way that helped her on her journey to be healthy can inspire you to believe that you can find what works for you too.

Lesley talks to us about her struggles starting as a teen who was hiding an eating disorder to a mom who finally realizes that she has value and worth. She does not have to earn it or be ashamed that she is not perfect. She has found peace in the fact that she can hand her burdens to God and he will carry them for her. He is her refuge. She learned that when she is vulnerable with God, shame is released.

She uses a Christian life coach to help her through life’s up and downs. Therapy with a biblical basis and counseling which includes prayer have been so helpful to her that she has gotten a Christian Counselor Certificate and is learning how to help others.
