Day 33, and it was one of those days where the wins were real, but they didn’t feel like enough!
Farrier arrived early, trimming nine horses, shoeing two, didn’t finish until 11:30am
Afternoon appointments were cancelled because two horses kept escaping; the electric fence fault is still unresolved
Spent the entire afternoon isolating sections, testing the system, finally found the fault at 4:30pm. Huge win.
But here’s the thing:
Even with the win, the day felt like a loss.
Lost time.
Lost revenue.
And the bigger question: is this the best use of my time, or should we be paying someone else to handle it?
One major bright spot: a good friend dropped off the most beautiful cooked food package, covering meals for the next few days. Grateful doesn’t even cover it.
Today was a reminder: sometimes leadership isn’t just doing more, it’s asking what really should you be doing.
