Manteno Police are investigating after shots were fired in the Village Friday night. In a press release, Manteno Police say it was just before 11 Friday night when officers were called to the 100 block of East 2nd Street and spoke with a witness who said they'd heard multiple gunshots before hearing the sound of a car leaving the area. Reports say multiple shell casings were found at the scene and a vehicle involved was later found in the 200 block of Stadium Drive in Bourbonnais. Manteno Police ask anyone with information call their office or Crime Stoppers at 815-93-CRIME.

The planned City of Watseka lighted drive-through display is officially on for this Christmas season. During last week’s Watseka Area Chamber of Commerce Business after hours at the Watseka Food Pantry, Chamber Executive Director Amanda Hibbs gave an update.  Hibbs says the plan is to turn on the lights following the Watseka lighted Christmas Parade and the lights will be turned off after the first of the year. You can contact the Watseka Area Chamber for more information.
