Introduction: The Foolishness of the Cross

"He's very intelligent. He just has no common sense." Have you ever heard that said about anyone? Today, we delve into the profound love of God, expressed through the cross of Jesus Christ. At first glance, it may seem illogical for God's love to be revealed through an instrument of torture. However, as the apostle Paul reminds us:

The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God.

Paul continues to explain that God's way of thinking differs from human wisdom. While we may perceive God as wise, his actions often defy our understanding. Human wisdom, though not inherently wrong, falls short in its ability to save us.
