Gospel music has come to encompass everything from the Five Blind Boys of Alabama, Shirley Ceasar, Commissioned and Lacrae. R&B artists have touted roots in gospel music and maintained varying degrees of involvement with gospel over the course of their careers. Gospel has seemed to splinter into sub genres like much of the music industry. Praise and worship, urban, traditional and contemporary have come to define different types of gospel music.
