Feeling emotions is all part of the human experience - so why do we say ‘sorry’ for showing them? We are taught that vulnerable feelings like sadness, affection, or even disappointment in ourselves are all bad feelings and make others around us uncomfortable. Our parents tell us not to cry, because their parents taught them not to cry, and so on and so forth, for generations. It’s time to realize that holding back our emotions or invalidating them only makes our healing process much MUCH longer, if not healing at all. Allow yourself to feel, allow yourself the human experience with today’s episode all about breaking those harmful ‘standards’.
