It is possible for a person to read the Bible as mere literature; to put it in the category of a classic such as Shakespeare, Plato, Gandhi or Einstein. It is also possible to read the Bible with the aid of the Holy Spirit. It then becomes a love story, a compass, a guide, an instructor, a comforter, and a friend. The Bible can become food for the soul and refreshing water for the inner man.
