Description

May 30th is the feast day of Saint Joan of Arc, an uneducated peasant girl from France who lived during the Hundred Years war. At the age of 13, she began hearing voices that told her what she must do to save France. Five years later, she dressed as a boy, rode across the countryside, and led an expeditionary force into battle. She was eventually tried for heresy and burned at the stake. Fr. McCarthy talks to us about the problems she presents (or should present) for Christians and how we can determine what is worthy of imitation in the lives of the saints.
