Terrence Malick's new film, "A Hidden Life," debuted at the Cannes Film Festival in May (2019). The movie is about Franz Jaggerstatter, an Austrian farmer and a Catholic who refused to serve in Hitler's army and, as a result, was executed on Aug. 9, 1943. In this episode, Jack Gilroy, a founding member of the American group "Friends of Franz," gives us the inside scoop on how the story of Franz's witness came to be known and why Franz's wife, Franziska, at the age of 94, was seen riding in the sidecar of a motorcycle in 2007! Also, find out why Jack's group is now called "Friends of Franz and Ben."
