Description

Austin Calitro is a current Linebacker for the Cincinnati Bengals.  He's played in the NFL since 2017 with various teams including the Seattle Seahawks and Jacksonville Jaguars, and played collegiately for Villanova from 2013-2016.  Austin talks about growing up in Danbury Connecticut, having a twin sister, how he got into football, being a three-sport athlete at Danbury High School, the recruiting process, and why he chose Villanova.  He describes the NCAA Football Subdivision, redshirting his Freshman year, and his growth each year he played at Villanova. Austin discusses never questioning returning for his 5th year, being a team captain during longtime Head Coach Andy Talley's last year, participating in the pre-draft activities, going undrafted in the 2017 NFL Draft, and what happens after the draft for those players.  He details his early career in the NFL, spending time on practice squads, getting a break with the Cleveland Browns, and experiencing success during the 2018 season with the Seattle Seahawks.  He also talks about spending the 2019 season with the Jacksonville Jaguars, being claimed off waivers by the Cincinnati Bengals in April 2020, how he feels about moving around so much, and his excitement to start the 2020 season.
