Description

Autumn Champion-Schur played softball at the University of Arizona from 2003-2006 and was a member of the 2006 National Championship team.  She talks about growing up in Tustin, California, how she got into softball, playing from childhood through college with Caitlin Lowe, and her mom always willing to drive her to tournaments hours away.  Autumn discusses her great career at Foothill High School, originally being upset when her coach moved her from shortstop to the outfield, her recruiting process, and why she chose Arizona. She details playing for Coach Mike Candrea, the competitive then Pac-10,  playing right away as a Freshman, playing in 3 Women's College World Series, and tearing her ACL her Sophomore year.  She then talks about the 2006 season where Arizona won the National Title and she was named to the All World Series Team, her professional career, working as a teacher but then deciding to attend nursing school, working her way up in her career, working on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic, and her wonderful life with her husband and children.
