Ben Asher is the Director of Operations and Recruiting for the Rutgers Men's Basketball Team.  He talks about growing up in Oyster Bay, New York, how he got into basketball, his basketball and football career at Oyster Bay High School, his decision to pursue student managing at a Division 1 college rather than play at a lower Division, and the process of how he ended up choosing to attend West Virginia University.  Ben describes the hard work of a student manager, working for Head Coach Bob Huggins, making it to the 2010 Final Four his Freshman year, and the old Big East Conference before conference realignment.  He discusses his first coaching job as Graduate Assistant at NC State from 2013-2015, working in the Triangle by Duke and UNC, and advancing to the Sweet Sixteen in 2015.  Ben then talks about taking a job with Siena College as Director of Operations, working for a Mid-Major, and then making the move to Rutgers in 2016.  He describes working in the Big Ten Conference, spending 3 years as Special Assistant to Head Coach Steve Pikiell, being promoted to Director of Operations and Recruiting, the phenomenal 2020 season Rutgers had, and the disappointment of the Tournament being cancelled due to COVID-19.
