Description

Brooke Jelniker played basketball at the University of Kansas in 2010-2011 and the University of San Diego from 2012-2015.  She talks about growing up in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, where girls basketball is outstanding, attending Thunderridge High School with Carlie Needles, playing for a great program that always had many fans in the stands, playing in the Nike Tournament of Champions every season, and playing AAU for the Colorado Hoopsters.  She also discusses the recruiting process, why she committed to Kansas, Abby Waner giving her a booklet with advice for being a college athlete before she left, why she decided to transfer after her freshman season, and what led her to San Diego.  Brooke describes her time at San Diego and the success the program had, winning over 20 games each year she was there.  She also discusses what her life is like now as she is the Assistant Girls Varsity coach at a high school in Colorado, attending nursing school, and being a nurse's assistant.
