JJ Hones played basketball at Stanford University from 2006-2010 and was a member of 3 Final Four teams. She talks about where the name "JJ" comes from, growing up in Beaverton Oregon, and how she got into basketball. JJ discusses her great career at Southridge High School, where she played with several other future D1 players, won 2 State Championships, and was a nationally ranked program. She describes the recruiting process, why she chose Stanford, and how she was able to handle the tough academics while playing basketball and joining a sorority. JJ then talks about her great freshman year that ended with an ACL tear in February, the rehab process, coming back in 2008, helping lead Stanford to the Final Four, and her outstanding game in the Elite Eight against Maryland. She details tearing the same ACL a second time at the start of her Junior year, being able to travel abroad during that time and gaining perspective, coming back for her Senior season but continuing to play through knee problems, how her knee is doing today, and what she's been up to recently.
