Description

Julie Shaw was a softball pitcher for the University of Sciences in Philadelphia  from 2010-2012.  She was named to the Bergen County All Decade Team after her great career at Ramapo High School.  Julie talks about growing up in Wyckoff, New Jersey, getting into softball through her father, becoming a pitcher, and her great club softball career.  She then describes her excellent career at Ramapo High School where she was a cheerleader and a softball player, being the backup pitcher, but having to step up her Sophomore year when the starting pitcher went down, and leading Ramapo to a Sectional Title in 2007.  She talks about going back to backup her junior year, continuing to DH, and then being the ace in 2009 and leading Ramapo to another Sectional Title.  Julie discusses her recruiting process, why she chose USciences, the transition from high school to college softball,  not having the career she exactly wanted, but making great friends that she's still close to today, and continuing to have softball in her life by giving pitching lessons in her free time.
