Description

Maura Schwitter played Lacrosse at Duke from 2014-2017, was a member of the US National team, and also played professionally in the Women's Professional Lacrosse League.  Maura talks about growing up in Oradell, NJ, as the youngest of 5 children, how she got into the sport of Lacrosse, and the differences between Men's and Women's Lacrosse.  She also discusses her 4 year Varsity career at Immaculate Heart Academy, playing club Lacrosse, and her mom making sacrifices to drive her an hour twice a week in the winter to compete.  Maura then talks about being a 2013 Under Armour All-American, the recruiting process, why she chose Duke, what it was like playing in the ACC Conference, and the rivalry with North Carolina.  She describes the incredible run to the Final Four in 2015 and why the team was playing for something bigger than themselves, the honor of being on the US Women's National Team, and playing professionally in the Women's Professional Lacrosse League.
