Reed Hunnicutt was a student at Notre Dame from 2015-2018, and at the end of his Freshman he decided to join the practice squad for the women's basketball team. Male practice players attend practice so the girls can go up against stronger, more physical competition to get them ready for the games. They will watch film on the opponents and run their defenses and offensive plays against the women. Practice players do not get paid, they don't get athletic scholarships, and they cannot travel with the team. It is a very selfless job. Reed talks about his love for basketball, his decision to attend Notre Dame, how he ended up on the practice squad, his dedication to the team, and what he learned from Muffet McGraw and the coaching staff. He also discusses being a captain in 2018, attending the Final Four in Columbus, how Coach McGraw sought him and the other practice players out after winning the National Championship, Bookstore Basketball, the lifelong bond he has with the other members of the practice squad, and what he is up to now, including his own Podcast "Speak Up and Dribble".
