Tony Sorrentino is an Assistant Coach for the Northern Illinois University Football team. Collegiately, Tony played football at The College of New Jersey from 2001-2004 and has coached for almost 20 years at every level- New Jersey high schools, colleges, and the NFL. He talks about growing up in Parsippany, New Jersey, coming from a very athletic family, getting into football through his father, and his great career at Mountain Lakes High School where he was a 3-sport athlete. Tony discusses the recruiting process, why he chose TCNJ, his 4 year career with the Lions where he mostly played Wide Receiver, and his involvement in youth coaching in the community. He then explains always wanting to be a coach, his first job working at a high school with his father, coaching at TCNJ, several stints at Power Five teams- University of Minnesota, University of Miami, and University of Tennessee. He describes his 4 years coaching in the NFL with the Jacksonville Jaguars, coaching with Lane Kiffin at Florida Atlantic University, his current job at Northern Illinois, and looking ahead to the 2021 football season.
