Description

Dave encourages us to measure everything we see/hear/feel against the Bible, using the Bible as a spirit(ual) level.

Living and building with a plumb line and being a song people want to hear.

For the last couple of weeks, we have heard the importance of hearing the voice of the Holy Spirit and learning to do so and more importantly learning to be obedient.

It is important to not only hear from the Holy Spirit but to be able to discern the voice of God from your own thoughts or the environment around you.

The expression My Truth makes my flesh crawl as we must seek His truth and not our perception of what is right. How do we do this?

We need a plumb line.

Amos 7 v 7.

Then he showed me another vision. I saw the Lord standing besides a wall that had been built using a plumb line. He was using a plumb line to see if it was still straight.

Let’s see how we can tell what someone says is right or out of line.

Thumbs up if you agree.
Thumbs down if this is wrong.

1.The weak and sick shall perish and we shall help them to do so.
Matthew 5 verse 3 Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of God.
2.Everyday look for a way to help your friends and harm your enemies.
Matthew 5 v 44 Love your enemies. Pray for those who persecute you!
3.It is good to act in a humble way to everyone.
Matthew 5 v 5 God blesses those who are humble for they will inherit the whole earth.
4.It is good to help people be friends when they are fighting.
Matthew 5 v 9 God blesses those who work for peace for they will be called children of God.

It is relatively easy to put a plumb line or spirit level up against these actions but when it is our feelings it is more difficult but more important to use our plumb line or spirit level.

Our feelings or emotions are God given but when they are out of line, they cause us pain and we must try and realign them with our God given spirit level. Otherwise, we sound off key.

5.I’ve made a mess of my life I’ve got to get myself out of this then I’ll be right with Him. Daniel 9 v 9 The Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against Him.
6.I’m afraid of dying.
John 11 v 25 I am the resurrection and life. Anyone who comes to me live, even after dying.
7.No one loves me. I don’t even love myself.
Isaiah 43 v 4 Since you are precious and honoured in My sight and because I love you, I will give people in exchange for you, nations in exchange for your life.
