They only knew God in this way because they came into his presence and had relationship. Out of that came incredible blessing.
Royal wedding. Who could identity with what it must be like to be royal?

Priests were the intermediary between the people and God.
Priests had no possessions
We are the priesthood of all believers,
so we have full access to God….
We can be an intermediary for the non believer...
and we have no possessions….

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
Do you know who we are?
Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
