I spoke with Ronny Moorings, the iconic singer, songwriter, producer and one of the founding members of the dark electro, darkwave, goth band, Clan of Xymox.
As the only constant member of Clan of Xymox, a project he formed in 1981, Moorings writes the music, mixes them, records them and plays all the instruments.
Clan of Xymox, one of the pioneers of the early gothic movement, remains to be one of the most influential bands today with 16 studio albums, several singles, EPs, compilations, live albums and remixes. Prior to the current Covid 19 pandemic crises in March, Clan of Xymox completed a sold out USA tour and then abruptly returning home to Germany.
Their latest album called "Spider on the Wall," released on Metropolis Records continues to deliver their magical, dark, passionate, inimitable signature sound. The single called "Lovers" held the number 1 position for seven weeks in the Deutsche Alternative Charts, with "All I Ever Know" holding number 2 more recently.
