After missing out on the ultimate success that she so wanted as a leader in the Hockeyroos squad in the Olympics. Her body was no longer cut out to play at the highest level after world cups & the commonwealth games.
Jayde retired in Amsterdam & eventually made her way back to Perth for the next phase of her life. No longer having a purpose & drive to get out of bed early for training she went through some dark days like many athletes do post their professional careers.
A lucky meeting (with now business partner) & interesting discussion around an ice cream recipe that has zero sugar that actually tastes delicious! Now Jayde had found her purpose & something that excited her just as much as her playing days... being her own boss in a start up ice cream company "Denada Co".
