Description

The internet has given us so many gifts and ways to connect but it also comes with a dark side. We are more connected than ever but sometimes we feel bad when we spend too much time on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. The false persona that we present online can be confused with our real self and we can get caught up in identifying with our ego instead of our true spiritual self.

In this episode we discuss the three main issues people have online that keep them from evolving:

  1. Comparing Themselves to Others – what others have and minimizing their own success compared to others in relationships, career and even how they look and age.
  2. Needing Attention – the need to be liked, literally, feeling bad when not enough people like your posts or comment on them. Feeling as if no one cares or that you are not popular enough or what you say is not important.
  3. Battles of Opinion – getting caught up in mini-battles about politics, religion, personal development or health opinions, especially with strangers. We look at the need to be right instead of having a healthy discussion and debate on important matters.

Episode Exercise: What to do when you are triggered by someone online.
