Pastor Micah continues on in our series this week called "From the Ashes: Embracing the Full Life of God." Our lives can sometimes feel like they are a disappointing pile of ashes. We can be broken, shattered, and destroyed.
However, the good news of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection is that we can experience new life. Our lives, no matter how bad before, are never irredeemable. Said another way, you are not broken beyond repair. In and through Christ, you can rise above the ashes and experience abundant life. Each week we will look at one aspect of Jesus’ life and ministry during His time here on earth and what we can learn from Him.
Jesus demonstrated humility by coming to earth from heaven and washing the feet of His disciples. When we choose to exercise humility, we look most like Christ to the world around us.
1. Jesus set the example of humility (Philippians 2:3-8)
2. Humility is a Big Deal (1 Peter 5:5-6; Psalm 138:6)
Jesus wanted the disciples to know how much He loved them. He showed them His unconditional love by lowering Himself to the form of a servant by washing His disciples feet. (John 13:1-17)
Bottom Line: Where pride is abundant, humility is absent!
