When we put our faith in Jesus Christ, we begin running a race that lasts until we are united with our God in heaven. This race is a metaphor for us doing the will of God in our life. In order to be able to run this race well, we must first throw off whatever is weighing us down or entangling our feet. Hebrews 12:1 tells us to do this by considering the great cloud of witnesses that surrounds us. Over the next 4 weeks, we will be studying the lives of various witnesses that will help encourage us in our faith, starting with the witnesses found in Hebrews 11.
