1) Following Jesus means He is Preeminent v.25-26
When one loves Jesus most they are filled & equipped to love others best
2) Following Jesus is a Series of Deaths v.27
Count the Costs v.28-32
3) Following Jesus means He is Treasure v. 33
4) Following Jesus means being Winsome v. 34-35
Questions:
What relationship has changed (needs to change) because you are following Jesus?
Is there a sacrifice you have endured that you now see is a cost of following Jesus?
Do you see the sacrifices Jesus asks you to make as ultimately for your good or ultimately withholding something from you?
What is a Cross (dying) that you are currently experiencing?
Who needs encouragement that the cost of following Jesus is worth it?
Do your family, neighbors, classmates, co-workers, and retail persons experience you as “salty” with the gospel? If, not cry out to God now to change you.
