What do you do when God’s promises feel bigger than your reality?

In Genesis 15, Abram struggles to reconcile what God has said with what he actually sees. He assumes the future will be limited, ordinary, and defined by circumstance. But God lifts Abram’s eyes from the dust beneath his feet to the stars above his head and invites him to trust a promise that seems impossible.

This sermon explores the moment Scripture says, “Abram believed the Lord, and it was credited to him as righteousness.” It looks at what faith really means—not blind optimism or religious performance, but choosing to build your life on a God who is trustworthy even when the outcome is unclear.

Connecting the story of Abraham to the message of Jesus, this episode highlights how righteousness has always been rooted in faith rather than perfection. The promise given under the night sky ultimately points forward to Christ, reminding us that our standing with God is not earned through rituals or achievements, but received through trust.

If you’ve ever wrestled with doubt, wondered whether faith is enough, or felt caught between what you see and what you hope for, this message invites you to look up again. Sometimes the most powerful spiritual shift begins when we stop staring at the dust and start counting the stars.
