 Abandoned Trump Plaza in Atlantic City to be Torn Down

One of the biggest eyesores on the Atlantic City Boardwalk in recent years was the old Trump Plaza. The property is owned by real estate mogul Carl Icahn. He received a court order to tear down the building in April. Current plans call for the demolition of both empty towers by the end of the year or by next February at the latest. Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small Sr. announced those plans in a press conference last week. There was no mention of Icahn’s future plans for the oceanfront property. The major is interested in working on future development plans with whoever owns the property.

  A $1.1 Billion Biloxi Casino Project in The Works

This proposed Biloxi casino resort would be the most expensive casino project in the Gulf Coast region of Mississippi. The site is the former Broadwater Beach Resort. The company behind the proposal is Broadwater Development LLP. Plans call for a casino, hotel and spa. Also included is a golf course and an indoor/outdoor entertainment center. The entire property covers 266 acres including a portion of waterfront to house a marina. The property has sat idle since Hurricane Katrina ravaged this area in 2005. It was once the site of President Casino. This was a $17 million floating casino the size of a football field.

  Wind Creek Hospitality CEO Looks to The Future for Pennsylvania Casino

Wind Creek Bethlehem is located in the eastern portion of the state, north of Philadelphia. It is the second-biggest casino in the state in terms of gaming revenue. The parent company is Wind Creek Hospitality as part of Alabama’s Poarch Band of Creek Indians. The company’s President and CEO is Jay Dorris. Beyond the current plans of reopening the casino’s doors, there are still big plans in the works. Closed since mid-March due to the coronavirus, there is no set timetable to reopen. The 4th of July holiday weekend is a logical target. Dorris is still hoping to break ground on a $100 million hotel expansion project late this summer.
