In this episode of, "Solving Life's Next Chapter," we meet Matt Maret, Mortgage Loan Originator with HomeBridge Financial Phoenix Branch. Matt has been a big supporter of Veterans and their families over the years. Matt has also been my biggest supporter for starting a Podcast, asking me to share my Senior and Veteran resources. As a Senior Real Estate Specialist, a certified Probate, and a VA specialist, I have lots of resources for Seniors and their Adult children.
One issue that Veterans have is affordable housing. Not just affordable, but when using your VA benefits to buy a home, the home must be in top condition, such as no leaking faucets, no chipped paint, and must have some kind of flooring.
With the low inventory of homes for sale, it can be a challenge for the Veteran and their families to find just the RIGHT home! Matt Maret explains a new loan product to help Veterans and their families. This loan product is a VA Rehab loan and it allows the Veterans to buy homes that are in need of repairs, such as carpet, paint, or other items, yet still use their VA benefits. Not only are these loans great for the Veterans to put their own style into their homes, but they can order supplies through supply stores like HomeDepot and Lowes, which offers VA discounts.
Utilizing a VA rehab loan also helps in area's where maybe the homes are older or run down and a normal VA loan would not work. It helps the Veterans get into a home and help the area once the home has been remodeled.
