- Deeper is back. Casey is back. Here's a subject that most love - SEX! However, most don't like to take a Biblical view of it. Why? Because it will convict pretty much everyone listening to this. Why? We are all flawed. Rom 3:23
- This is such a serious and meaningful subject that I'm going to put a larger preface on this one.
- First of all, let's start with my confession. I wrestle with parts of the Bible. If you have listened long enough, you know that I can grabble with 7 literal days vs. what is a day to God. God is not bound by human time. I grapple with the flood, Jonah and the fish. Moving ahead, I can get side tracked with parts of the New Testament. For example, it talks about how to treat slaves, women as pastors, etc. Controversial stuff, especially in this day and age. Check Eph 6, 1 Cor 14, 1 Tim 3.
- We are a bunch of flawed Dudes, getting real and seeking Truth. We are not going to pretend it isn't written. We will not sugar coat.
- A flashpoint for many is homosexuality. If you are homosexual, for the record, know that I care about you. I have no hate for you. I have love for you and will encourage you with Truth the best I can. As one of my favorite speakers, Pastor Bill Bohline, since retired, from Hosannalc.org once said, may we all meet at the foot of the cross. Homosexual or heterosexual or whatever sexual, we are all flawed.
- As much as some can pick on homosexuals, here is a counterbalance. Heterosexual men, so many of you that are judgmental, did you know that Bible says that even if you look at a woman with lustful eyes that you commit adultery. Matt 5: 27-28. That pretty much wipes us all out. I'm not just talking porn either. If you look at a woman too long in a bar or at the beach or __________. You're guilty. So let's get off our high horse.
- Moving forward, as you listen to Casey. First and foremost listen to how he opens. He picks on himself. When he continues on, just know he is reading from the Bible including what it says about marriage. You can wrestle with that like I do with the other stuff.
- Lastly, how do I overcome wrestling with all of the above? The Big Story. Love is greatest of all. Love God and loving others (including those you do not align with in a sexual or any other sense is our mandate). Matt 22: 36-40. We are told to pray for our enemies. To do kind things for them not just the ones you like. If we are all flawed, then we all need the promise of Jesus, John 14:6. That's the Truth Ruth. Without further adieu, Casey...
