There's a sequel to "What Happens When You Die?". Yes, a bit ironic. Remember in previous episodes where I say we are all flawed? Well, I didn't like the way Part 1 ended. I went back in to adjust the song and add some additional words of hope and ended up deleting the whole group conversation in the master copy. The group conversation lives on in the cloud and the podcast published on December 4th.
Some of you are saying that's what you get..haha! You may be be right. At least, I get a shot at a sequel or a preface depending on the order you are listening to this. So here is part 2 on how I was going to edit it.
Phil 4:13 says "I can do all things in Christ which strengthens me". Early in my faith I thought that meant I can do anything. Which it also says anything is possible with God. As I get deeper in my faith, I think Paul meant that we can get through anything with Christ. That means the worst things on this earth. Whether someone stole from you, violated you, took a loved one or even took your life. Christ will get you and your loved ones through it and including your own death here to the ultimate life.
So are you going to invest more time in your hurts or your hopes? Are you going to put in as much concern into eternity vs. identity theft? Are you going to invest more time into worrying about the news, Covid, politics, __________? Or will you shift that worry time to worship the one that promises you freedom from all of that?
If you are still a doubter, I will challenge you to prove it wrong. Just like that cardiologist mentioned earlier, or Lee Strobel or Dr. Francis Collins or C.S. Lewis. All former atheists and agnostics that are most likely much smarter than you and me. They all now believe.
The afterlife is real. We are all going to find out. 1 in 25 Americans currently living has already experienced it. You will doubt. Others will say you can't and won't. Don't believe the lies. Bet on Hope and Truth. "Anything is possible in Christ with strengthens you."
Lastly, I know some of you already believe this. Good. Now do a better job sharing and selling hope. If you still struggle, simply share this and tell them I love you so much that if this heaven is real, I want to be with you there forever. Will you give it a shot?
Ending on a song note, some of you for the first time are seeing life through a different lens. You now know what it means to live and not just be alive...on this broken planet and long after you leave it. If you doubt, you are human. We all do it. "Say I Won't', we all get corrected.
We can be made right by Christ. Your choice. The ultimate gift. This is "Say I Won't" by MercyMe. If you dig, please add it to your "I want to live and not just be alive" playlist. Now go, live, love others while you are here, make the most of this life and be at peace you will be with loved ones in world a million times better than than this one someday...
