- Hey, hey, hey! Special shout out to our listeners in Pakistan and Ireland and in Virgina and California to name a few. Wherever you may be today, I bet many of you are asking "What in the world is going on?!" You've been beat down? For those that have stuck with us long enough, you will be challenged. You are not listening to this by accident. You have a purpose and we will encourage you. For today, we are going back to the Dr. Bryan Lorrits well. He helps explain how we can be different during the tougher times on this broken planet. We listen to it and discuss. If you would like to listen to the entire message go to the 'Bryan Lorrits' podcast given at Summit Church in NC. Published on 8/4/20, entitled "Same Different as He". BTW, this is the same guy that gave us 'Strange Love', one of my favorite messages ever that we discussed back on July 4th, season 2, Episode 37. Let's go!
- Word! Check it out, 1 Peter 4. Tough times are promised. They can be brutal and you are not alone. Thank you Dr. Lorrits for your excellent take on this. You can hear his entire message at 'Bryan Lorrits' Podcast, entitled "Same Different as He", published on 8/4/20.
- We are absolutely seeing a big increase in confusion, anxiety and depression. If that is you, will you let us know at FriDudes.com/contact us? We will encourage you. We will pray for you. You are absolutely not alone. You have a purpose. You may feel helpless right now. Just know God sees you and loves you. This hurt isn't from God. This hurt is from this broken planet. Keep tuning to the voices that build you up. Seek therapy if needed. Depression is as real as cancer. Lean into community as Dr. Lorritts suggests.
- One last perspective and then song time to reflect. One cannot get stronger without resistance. In addition, some of the best to help others is one that knows your pain...whether that is a loss of a loved one or dealing with cancer or addiction or ___________. You can help someone else someday. I believe that is part of your healing path. That can be part of your legacy.
- Ending on a song note, this is the song "God I Look to You" that was in his message...this version is by Bethel Music and Francesa Batistelli, if you dig, please add it to your playlist, now go, lean into the community that will build you up, serve and love...
