Lou and Teresa discuss the killing of unarmed 25 year old Ahmaud Arbery at the hands of father and son duo Gregory McMichael and Travis McMichael. Gregory McMichael is a retired law enforcement officer. Mr. Arbery was chased and shot by the McMichaels while he was out jogging on February 23, 2020. The McMichaels were charged with Ahmaud's killing (in early May) only after a video of the killing surfaced and there was a considerable outcry from the African American community. Unfortunately, Mr. Arbery joins a continuing list of African Americans violently killed while engaging in ordinary activities that most Americans routinely enjoy. The Earrings Off! co-hosts voice sadness, frustration and anger at the killing and discuss how such murders serve as blatant reminders of the disregard for the lives of African Americans.
