Lou and Teresa discuss how people can become comfortable by staying in the same environments, doing the same thing. The routine provides comfort, it's what we know and it works. Or does it? For example, if you have found a way to brush your teeth and that specific way has been proven to remove a significant amount of plaque, well that's a good thing. Bravo and keep brushing!
However, if you keep brushing your teeth the same way because you believe if you don't brush with the same circular motion exactly three times then your teeth will fall out, with no rational basis for this technique, well this episode may be for you.
Lou and Teresa discuss irrational fears. They also talk about how avoiding situations which make us uncomfortable may also be the gateway to either irrational behavior or possibly living an unfulfilled life. You're better than that. Listen in and commit to doing something you have always wanted to try but were too afraid to attempt. Something that you know, may spur you on to more success or even more fun. (Side bar: Lou and Teresa recently did something that made them very uncomfortable: they enrolled in acting classes. It's going just as badly as they imagined but the laughs are proving to be just what they both needed after some very long days.) Turns out Nike was right: Just Do It!
