If yoga is the the practice of paying attention then so, too, is poetry. A poem defies definition. It is something deeply personal, untranslatable. We use poetry to create meaning of the beautiful, brutal things around us.
I find poetry and yoga to be so similar: how we connect breath and movement and words, how we bring attention to every moment, the creation of friction, the feeling of empathy.
In this episode, I speak with poet, Joy Sullivan, about the urgency and the magic of poetry. We define what it is, how it provides us a haven, and how even though it might not save the world… it is the beginning.
