All I know about marketing I learned from dating...okay, that's not entirely true but there are some very powerful parallels.

For example, what would likely happen if you walked up to an attractive person, interrupted their current conversation, and blurted out, "Hey, I want you to be the mother (or father) of my children. Want to come back to my place?"

If you tried that, you would likely end up with either a slap to the face, a kick to the groin, or even some jail time. Or possibly all three.

That would be crazy, right? You don't go from first contact to talk of having kids on your first contact.

But that's exactly what most doctors are doing with their patients. They are asking for this massive decision (allow me to put my hands in your mouth and charge you for it) on their first contact with them!  And the patient’s stunned, eyes wide, mouth open like“I just barely met you!”
