Many prayers go unanswered. Many of your prayers are still unanswered. Why is that? What makes for effective prayer? Is there a formula for prayer which moves God to answer? Do we need to do something out of the ordinary (like fasting) to get God's attention? The prophet Elijah provides a good example for us about what makes for effective prayer. There's nothing strange about it, but it does require one's full attention and some genuine effort.
