Let's be honest...we're all feeling those January/February blues and it's not fun...the holidays are in the rearview, it's freezing cold, and the lack of movie options are hitting hard...BUT DO NOT WORRY! Episode 14 is here and we think it's exactly what you need to power through! We are making up for the lack of quality movie releases by dropping some "under the radar" gems that we (take a shot) couldn't recommend enough...comedy, drama, horror, sci-fi, action, romance, animation...it's all represented and we have a lot to say about some of our favorites that might have gone unnoticed!
We also debate the worst movie we have ever seen, Taylor Swift's new found voice (at age 30), and what movie we think actually deserves a remake in 2020. Don't think we forgot about reviews, because Kasen drops his thoughts on "Weathering With You", one of the biggest animated releases of the year...and Keenan drops his thoughts on "Judy", a biopic about Judy Garland that is getting a lot of Oscar buzz for Renee Zellweger's performance. Let's get on board the SNOWPIERCER and start bringing back the happiness to this dark time of year!!
As always, time stamps are below for anyone that wants to hear our pitch for a Transformers romantic comedy...
0:19 - Intro/Keenan's arrogance leads to a shocking realization
4:26 - What's the worst movie we've ever seen?? (great question from our boy D.Leecious)
10:17 - Thomas the Train and the SnowPiercer merge with the train from Breaking Bad, and all hell breaks loose...also what have we been watching (Money Heist, Bad Boys For Life, Missing Link, The Promised Neverland, The Outsider)
29:05 - It's a pretty lackluster time for movie releases, so let's go over some movies we LOVE that might have slipped past our listeners...
1:07:08 - It's time to talk about MOVIE TRAILERS! (Irresistible, Vivarium, Miss Americana)
1:15:29 - Kasen's dreams come true and he gets to talk about anime for 10 solid minutes! How good was "Weathering With You"??? Keenan's dreams come true and he gets to talk about Judy Garland for 10 solid minutes! How good was the biopic "Judy"???
1:31:38 - Our appetite for cinema cannot be contained, and we need to know what's about to be released in theaters...(Gretel and Hansel, The Rhythm Section, The Assistant)
1:35:04 - The MAILBAG is here...thank you to TalkShitGetFit and MatthewRKeller for the fantastic questions!
1:42:16 - We drop our MVP's for the week and say goodbye until next time...when we will break down our ACADEMY AWARDS PREDICTIONS! Thank you for rolling with us!
