In this episode of Chapter One: Take Two we discuss the film Just Mercy which has been adapted from the book written by Bryan Stevenson in 2014. It follows Bryan's experiences as he represents prisoners who have otherwise been lost in the system. This is the first non-fiction book we have covered for the podcast and we are very humbled to bring more attention to the issues with the American justice system and justice systems as a whole. It is hard to hear about the suffering of others but if we do not talk about it then nothing will ever change. We are all more powerful than we think. Don't lose hope. We were very lucky to have guest Fraser Robinson on this week's episode to provide insight into New Zealand law and American politics. Please be aware that we discuss material in this episode that may be triggering to some listeners so remember to take care of yourselves.
